About me and this weblog

I live on and farm the same Western Pennsylvania land where my family has lived since 1876. We breed and sell market lambs, and sometimes sell a few other products like cider and cattle. More importantly, We also try to meet many of our household's needs for fuel and food from the farm. When not busy on the homestead, I provide community planning services to a variety of municipalities in my native region.

I started this weblog to share information related to exploring various connections between food and farms to community planning and urbanism. I write from a somewhat unique perspective as both a planner and farmer. My sincere hope is that this site may help stimulate creative thinking to rebuild and revitalize small towns, city neighborhoods, and rural areas.
